ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION
The name of the corporation is to be “The Society of the Alumni of the College of William and Mary in Virginia.”
The term alumni as referred to in these articles shall refer to male and female graduates or former students of the College of William and Mary who shall be eligible for membership under the bylaws of the corporation.
The address of the registered office of the corporation is to be at 500 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. The name of its registered agent at that office is Marilyn W. Midyette who is an officer of the corporation.
The purpose of this corporation is to organize the alumni of the College of William and Mary in one general body, so as to better keep alive the memories of college life, and by their united efforts, the more efficiently to aid in the promotion of the welfare of the College.
The corporation shall have the power to do any and all things not prohibited by law.
The membership of the Society shall consist of those alumni of the College of William and Mary as may be recognized as members under the bylaws of the corporation. The bylaws shall define the voting membership and the method of taking the vote of members and amending these articles.
The Board of Directors of the corporation shall be elected by the members in the manner prescribed by the bylaws.
The period for the duration of the corporation shall be perpetual.
