Prior to joining the Alumni Association Board, Chris Powers served on the Annual Giving Board and as a co-chair for his 35th and 40th class reunions. Currently he serves as a Class Ambassador.
Professionally, Chris is a principal with the financial consulting firm, NCM Solutions LLC. NCM helps corporate clients to remediate and recover assets held by various states, as well as properties held in dormancy by corporations.
Chris retired in September 2011 from Miller, Cooper & Co., a Chicago accounting and consulting firm, where he was the Director of the firm’s Nonprofit and Government Services Group.
Chris recently received a Masters in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University, Chicago, and a Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies from Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C.
He earned a BBA from William & Mary in 1973, a Masters in Accounting from VCU, and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Additionally he served on various nonprofit boards.
At William & Mary, Chris was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, a staff writer for the Colonial Echo and College Observer, a member of ROTC, and played freshmen basketball.
His particular interest in volunteer activities included serving for six years as a volunteer chaplain in the Cook County Youth Detention Center, and as Treasurer of an organization which assists disadvantaged families on Chicago’s Southside.
