Anne Shumadine ’83 awarded prestigious Clarke Medallion

In the video tribute to Anne Shumadine, J.D. ’83 the 2017 recipient of The T.C. and Elizabeth Clarke Medallion, Randy Webb MBA ’07, president and CEO of Signature Family Wealth Advisors says, “Anne has spent her life exemplifying the virtues of the Clarke Medallion.”

Shumadine was awarded the Clarke Medallion on March 28, 2017. The Clarke Medallion is the Raymond A. Mason School of Business’ highest honor and is awarded by the business school faculty to an individual whose distinguished career and contributions to business management represent the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Dean Larry Pulley remarked, “The Medallion and the Mason School have the same core principles.  It is hard to imagine a recognition that is more inextricably intertwined with the granting body. Anne Shumadine has, throughout her entire career, distinguished herself by principled achievement at the highest levels.”

Shumadine is the chairman and a founder of Signature Family Wealth Advisors, an independent multi-family office founded in 1994 that is dedicated to providing sophisticated planning solutions to wealthy individuals and families.  Anne is active in the business community in Hampton Roads and serves on the board of numerous non-profit institutions. She is a trustee and treasurer at Virginia Wesleyan College, a trustee of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a trustee of ACCESS College Foundation, and a member of the Wellesley College Business Leadership Council.

In 2014, Shumadine was recognized by Junior Achievement of Hampton Roads in the Business Hall of Fame, and in 2011, she received the Citizen Lawyer Award from William & Mary Law School and the Barron F. Black Community Builder Award from the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. Shumadine was also recognized in 2011, by LEAD Hampton Roads with its Visionary Award for business leaders. Shumadine is a graduate of Wellesley College and William & Mary Law School.
