The William & Mary Choir, under the direction of James Armstrong, will kick off its annual spring tour in Vinton on Friday, March 18, 2016.
The program entitled “The Light We Cannot See” will feature works by German and Austrian composers Schütz, Haydn, Rheinberger, and Mendelssohn and includes compositions by Jacob Handl, Kevin Memley as well as African American spirituals arranged by Hall Johnson, Moses Hogan, Robert Fountain, and J. Melvin Butler. The Choir will also be giving the first performances of a setting of Sara Teasdale’s poem "Alchemy" by William & Mary composer Robert LaRose ’16. Admission is free and open to the public.
