Megan L. Brown '99, a partner in Wiley Rein LLP’s Telecom, Media & Technology practice, practices at the intersection of innovation and regulation. She litigates, responds to investigations, shapes policy, and develops compliance strategy, with a focus on cybersecurity and privacy. Experienced in wireless deployment and the Internet of Things, she practices before the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security and Commerce, the FTC, FCC, NIST, and NTIA.
Megan served in the Department of Justice as Counsel to two U.S. Attorneys General. She is on the Board of the Women’s High Tech Coalition, the U.S. Chamber’s Cybersecurity Leadership Council, and co-Chairs the Federal Communications Bar Association’s Privacy and Data Security Committee. Megan has received several awards, including recognition from the National Law Journal as a cybersecurity “Trailblazer” and a 2017 “Rising Star” by Law360.
Megan graduated from William & Mary with degrees in Economics and International Relations. She got her J.D. from Harvard Law School and clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She serves an appointee of Maryland Governor Hogan on judicial selection, and is married with two kids.
Jay Sinha JD '12, CIPP/G, CIPP/US, is Staff Counsel for Global Operations & Compliance at Verizon Enterprise Solutions. His expertise focuses on ensuring Verizon products meet the data privacy and cybersecurity needs of Verizon’s Fortune 50 and Federal Government clients. Previously, Jay was a Senior Privacy Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington D.C, where he focused on privacy program management, including Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) reviews, incident response and policy implementation. Prior to joining Booz Allen Hamilton, Jay served as Special Counsel for Cybersecurity at LRH Group, LLC, after being an Associate Attorney in LeClairRyan’s Corporate Litigation and Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Groups.
Mr. Sinha is a Virginia-licensed attorney with a J.D. from William & Mary School of Law. While at William & Mary, Jay served as a Summer Law Clerk for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mr. Sinha earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Jay is an alumnus of the Virginia Governor’s Fellow program under Gov. Tim Kaine, and of the UVA Sorensen Institute.
