John Dalton '90, is a partner at Bryan Cave, LLP who focuses his practice on tax credit transactions, including new markets tax credit, low-income housing tax credit and historic rehabilitation tax credit transactions, and related affordable housing and community development matters.  Mr. Dalton represents investors, syndicators, community development entities, lenders, developers and other for-profit and nonprofit sponsors in all aspects of tax credit transactions.  He is experienced guiding clients through all phases of the deal, from planning stages through structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing the transaction, as well as post-closing asset management, compliance, restructuring and workout issues. Prior to joining Bryan Cave, Mr. Dalton specialized in bank regulatory issues. He received his J.D., cum laude, in 1997 from Washington and Lee University and his B.A. in 1990 from the College of William and Mary.

Joe Jackson '86, is a founding partner of Roth Jackson who concentrates on finance, restructuring and real estate matters. Mr. Jackson began his legal career as a commercial litigation attorney and now regularly represents lenders and business entities in commercial financings, asset and stock sales and other asset dispositions. Additionally, he represents creditors in workout-related litigation and bankruptcy matters in state and federal courts in Virginia and Maryland. Mr. Jackson also serves as outside counsel to businesses throughout the region regarding entity formation, governance and transaction-related issues. Mr. Jackson has a Top Secret security clearance from Defense Investigative Security Clearance Office.  Mr. Jackson is an active member of the Fairfax and Loudoun County chambers of commerce and the Circuit Court Committee of the Fairfax Bar Association. He has been recognized as one of Virginia’s “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine.

Sheila Rock Novak '91, JD '96 is a V.P. and Area General Counsel for PulteGroup, one of the largest nationwide homebuilders operating in over fifty markets across the country.  Prior to joining Pulte,  Sheila was a partner with Sutherland Asbill and Brennan in D.C. specializing in commercial real estate with a focus on commercial lending.   She received her B.A. from the College of William and Mary in 1991, an M.A. in European History from Georgetown in 1993 and her J.D. from William & Mary's Marshall Wythe Law School in 1996.

Earl E. Wise, III '83, JD '87 is an associate in Linowes and Blocher LLP's real estate transactions group. Mr. Wise's area of practice has included conducting closings for large commercial settlements, title examination and underwriting transactions. He has enjoyed positions with both large and small law firms as well as with national title insurance underwriters. Mr. Wise has conducted closings for national offices of title insurers, Fortune 500 companies and national and regional law firms. A selection of the parties involved in these closings include Federal Capital Partners, Foulger-Pratt, First Potomac Realty Trust, Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, and other large corporations.
