Holly Knoll, home to The Gloucester Institute's Moton Center, is a historic manor home that overlooks the York River in Gloucester County, Virginia. It was the retirement home of Dr. Robert Moton, who succeeded Booker T. Washington as principal of Tuskegee Institute. Holly Knoll has since continued to be a seat of social change in the black community, having been where the United Negro College Fund was conceived, and where Dr. Martin Luther King is said to have drafted portions of his "I Have a Dream" speech.
