Events
The William & Mary Alumni Association hosts approximately 400 events each year throughout the country. Each is an opportunity to meet and reconnect with fellow alumni, explore common interests, share your Tribe Pride and learn more about multitude of programs and services offered by the WMAA.
From tailgates and yule logs to reunions, these special events meld William & Mary traditions with new programs for one-of-a-kind experiences.

On-Campus Events
Charter Day Weekend (February)
Celebrating the creation of William & Mary by Royal Charter on February, 8, 1693, Charter Day festivities involve students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as the local community. In addition to the Charter Day Ceremony at Kaplan Arena, other highlights of the weekend will include the Lord Botetourt Affair, the Alumni Medallion & Service Awards Ceremony, the James Blair Society Reception and the Charter Day Dinner.
Traditions Weekend (April)
Traditions Weekend honors three distinguished groups in the William & Mary community — the 50th Reunion Class, the Olde Guarde and the Boyle Legacy Society. This customized experience held in the spring includes engaging programming and special events to build on the traditions alumni, parents and friends hold dear while reconnecting members with each other and the campus today.
Commencement Weekend (May)
In addition to awarding Student Academic Prizes, welcoming new graduates in the Alumni Induction Ceremony and honoring W&M families at the Legacy Brunch during Commencement Weekend, the Alumni Association hosts the annual Honorary Alumni Ceremony, recognizing exceptional individuals who have a distinguished record of service, support, advocacy and commitment on behalf of William & Mary.
Mosaic Weekend (June)
Mosaic Weekend provides an opportunity to come back to campus to celebrate the varied backgrounds, experiences and identities that make up our vibrant community. The festivities include a range of events designed for all to have fun, connect, be inspired and learn as we deepen W&M’s value of belonging. All are welcome to attend Mosaic Weekend.
W&M Women's Weekend (September)
In 2018-19, the Tribe community celebrated 100 years of women at William & Mary. To commemorate this milestone, the university hosted its first-ever W&M Women’s Weekend. Every two years, William & Mary women fill campus over the weekend and participate in activities and programs that are inspiring and empowering.
Homecoming & Reunion Weekend (October)
Every October, all roads lead home as alumni and friends gather on campus for Homecoming & Reunion Weekend. Featuring more than 170 events, including reunions, the Homecoming tailgating and football game, there are plenty of opportunities to fall in love with William & Mary all over again.
Regional Events
W&M Weekend (May)
W&M Weekend brings together the Tribe faithful for one extraordinary weekend every year in a spectacular host city. Showcasing the best of William & Mary and the best of the host city, W&M Weekend offers opportunities for alumni, parents and friends to connect, discover and celebrate. Previous William & Mary Weekends have been hosted in Chicago, New York City, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
William & Mary Night at Nationals Park (July)
Each summer W&M alumni, family and friends convene at Nationals Park to enjoy a Nationals baseball game and go home with W&M-Nationals co-branded merchandise.
Welcome to the City (September)
Welcome to the City is a series of events held each fall focused on fostering connections and transitioning from student to alumni for W&M Young Guarde (Classes of 2016-2025).
Regional Yule Log Celebrations (December)
Every December, the William & Mary community celebrates new beginnings with Yule Log ceremonies. This holiday tradition began in the 1930s and has been part of the William & Mary experience for generations of alumni. The cares and worries of the year burn away with the holly in the Yule fire, and our community — on campus and around the world — comes together with shared hope for the future.
