Jennifer “Jenny” Tatnall McLeod ’81

Raleigh, North Carolina

Jenny graduated from William & Mary with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. She was captain of the women’s swimming team and has been inducted into the William & Mary Athletics Hall of Fame. She was a recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan award and member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Her most important W&M success, however, was marrying her fellow swimmer, Ed McLeod ’80! She and Ed have two wonderful children, Amy and Randall, and five exceptional grandchildren.

After graduating, Jenny worked in computer science at several companies until children arrived. She loved staying at home with them until they started school, and then Jenny settled into a career in residential real estate. For over a decade, she managed one of the most successful offices in the Raleigh, North Carolina, area and currently works alongside her daughter, Amy. They have been recognized within the top 1% of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network. Outside of work, she has been active in the various churches served by her husband, including teaching Sunday School, working on various projects including a major renovation, baking lots of poundcakes and playing handbells. She has also served on the board of a local low-income housing community.

“I treasure my years at William & Mary and the wonderful friendships that were formed, most especially at Adair Pool. But I have not been able to be as engaged as I would have liked since graduation. A family working in a church does not have many free weekends! With Ed’s retirement, we are both excited about the opportunity to spend more time with the William & Mary community and I am very honored to be considered for this board. It is always with great pride that I tell people I went to William & Mary, and I hope to be able to contribute something of value to this institution that is the foundation of my family and my working life.”
