Barbara Marchbank ’84, P ’15
Chair, Inclusion, Career, Affinity and Regional Engagement Committee
Annapolis, Md.

After a short career teaching high school English, Barbara focused on raising a family and supporting her husband, Rob Marchbank ’82. Several relocations provided opportunities to become involved in various volunteer interests, consistently resulting in leadership positions in organizations with a focus on youth, music and faith, such as parent-teacher organizations, Young Life, symphony societies and the like. Much of this involvement included fundraising. Barbara also served William & Mary on the ’84 Class Gift Committee for the past three reunion years. She earned an M.A. in theology in 2016 and became registrar of The Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado, retiring from the position in 2020. She currently serves on the Board of Regents for the Institute. A trained mezzo-soprano, she has sung in symphonic choruses for over 30 years, in Florida, Virginia, London, and Colorado, and is a current member of The Washington Chorus in Washington, D.C.
